Hormongesteuerte College-Kids in bester Party-Laune folgen auf dem Weg in die Ferien fatalerweise einem Umleitungsschild und stranden in dem winzigen Südstaaten-Kaff Pleasant Valley. Dort sind die Einwohner so freundlich und vor allem die weiblichen Dorf-Schönheiten so offenherzig, dass die jungen Urlauber die reizende Einladung zum Jubiläums-Barbecue des Örtchens gerne annehmen. Leider merken sie viel zu spät, dass sie selbst das Hauptgericht sein sollen. Und unter der Leitung von Bürgermeister Buckman, gespielt von einem sehr gut aufgelegten Robert (Freddy Krueger) Englund, entwickeln die 2001 kannibalischen Bewohner eine bemerkenswerte Kreativität beim Hinschlachten des menschlichen Grillgutes.
